Things I’m Doing to Feel Good Right Now + Lululemon favorites

Lululemon outfit, what i'm going to feel good, athletic outfits

There’s no doubt 2020 has brought lots of negativity, but I’ve always been (or tried to be at least) a glass half full kind of girl. I don’t always succeed at it, but lately, I’ve been trying to remind myself of all the GOOD  and everything making me feel happy right now.

I really want to spread that positivity to you guys too so I decided to write a little list! I’m not saying this simple post will change your life, but maybe it’ll give you some ideas for what you can do for yourself in this area! :)

Being vulnerable with you guys

Sometimes it’s hard to decide how much of my life to put online, especially once I found out I was pregnant. TBH though sharing my pregnancy Q&A with y’all and putting it all out there was kind of therapeutic for me. It reminded me how much of a community I have here and I felt so much love and support. All of that say, if you have something weighing on you or on your mind, share it with someone! Being vulnerable is hard, but can make you feel like a weight is lifted.

Walking

Y’all know this is always my go-to when I need a mental boost. It feels SO good to get outside, breathe deep and move – even if it’s just for 10 minutes.

Giving myself grace

As a recovering perfectionist, giving myself grace is something I’ve been learning to do for the last few years because as much as I hate to admit it, I can’t do it all! So anytime recently where I’ve beat myself up for not doing “enough” I remember to give grace and it’s so cathartic. And it seems that being pregnant only calls for more grace because I’m not really 100% myself all the time like I normally am.

Even though I’m in my 2nd trimester and things have gotten better, I still have days where I can feel my body struggling and I have to start cutting things out or pulling back on work. Speaking of being pregnant, if you missed it, I shared A LOT about my experience throughout my first trimester and our story in this announcement blog post.

Spending quality time with D

It kinda started to hit me recently that as of March, it’ll never just be me and Duncan ever again. Obviously spending time with him is always something that makes me feel good, but more so lately knowing it’s not going to only be the two of us for much longer. I’m SO glad we took our annual trip to Maine in September and then we also did a staycation at the Broadmoor, which was incredible.

But I’ve also really enjoyed the down time we’ve had at home after work each day. I’ve been planning out our meals so we can cook at home and that has really helped create more structure. It’s also just nice to know what we’re eating each night instead of having to figure it out at the last minute!

Working out

I use the term “working out” loosely but I’ve started to accept that I really do feel better when I move my body. Plus I’m *trying* to get back into cardio now that I’m in my second trimester and not quite as miserable. I’ve been going to the gym a few days a week to work out with my trainer, but also incorporating Megan Roup’s prenatal classes and then also using my MYX bike and Crossrope Jump Ropes (linked my IG highlights where I talk about MYX and Crossrope more).

Studying the bible

Whenever I feel like I’m getting overwhelmed or too busy, getting back to studying the bible always makes my heart feel full. If you missed it, I recently did a Philippians study and a Colossians study if you want to check them out!

Sunday planning to get ready for the week

Sometimes I’m really on top of this and sometimes I’m not at all, but I have been lately and it’s been making such a big difference in my work week! I know it doesn’t feel fun to think about work on Sunday, but if it can make the week even a little easier, it’s so worth it! Highly recommend!

Using and experimenting with essential oils

2020 has been rough in a lot of ways but it was the year that I got into essentials oils and I’m so grateful for that! They make every day happier for me, especially these fall blends that I’m obsessed with!! I share more about that journey over on this Instagram account – although I haven’t been able to give it as much time lately. I hope to find more time for posting and sharing soon though because I really enjoy that!

Like I said, I know this isn’t a life-changing post, but I hope it encourages you to do something for yourself that makes you happy!
