I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been very big into working out. (I think I get this one from my mama!) But since I grew up either dancing or cheering, I was always active in some way. And since graduating, I’ve had to find ways to keep my body moving. I  like learning as much as I can about fitness and am occasionally inspired to get into a routine. In this category, I’ share what has and hasn’t worked for me, real-life-busy-girl tips, and everything in between. I’m hoping that this category will grow as my motivation does! Speaking of workout motivation, I did write a post on How To Make Yourself Actually Want To Workout and I use these tips to continue to motivate myself!

How to Stay Fit Without a Gym

Gyms freak me out. Maybe it's the thought of paying to use equipment when I could just go run outside or the thought of paying money every month to do a workout I could do in my living room/driveway - not to mention being intimidated by super fit people who know all the things about working out. Also, who has time to drive TO and FROM the gym and waste all that time. I know, I'm exaggerating, but whatever the case or excuse of the day may be, the bottomline is that I'm not a fan of gym memberships.

5 outdoor workouts for your body and mind

Do ya'll ever feel like you need something fresh when it comes to your exercise routine? Like your body and mind are just o.v.e.r. it? I've been craving time outside and simply sick of my normal gym routine. It sounds dramatic, but I've been longing for time to clear my head, hear nothing but nature, and get some new workouts in. I've been in Highlands, North Carolina this week, so I spent time outside taking advantage of the GORGEOUS setting. With endless trails to explore, I went on a couple hikes with my family, and even made my dad do BBG with me (more on this in an upcoming post, but if you don't know what it is, it's a tough workout and my dad had me LOLing the whole time. An extra ab workout for sure! (Anyone catch us on Snapchat?!)
