Weekly Outfit Ideas: How To Style Wide Leg Crops

Wide leg bottoms are probably one of the harder pieces to style in my closet because the look can go so wrong, so easily. I think when styling a wide leg look you have to pay attention to proportions and the hem of the pant. Proportion wise, if the bottom of your outfit is a wider silhouette the top portion of the look needs to be fitted or tucked in. As far as hems go, depending on your leg length and how tall you are – I think cropped wide-leg pants look best on shorter figures and are easier to take from work style to casual weekend vibes. If you are taller, you can go for capri-length or ankle-length or even ground-length wide-leg pants and not have to worry about looking cut off or squatty.

That’s all my personal opinion – but y’all voted to see me style these wide-leg crops this week so here is what I came up with!

Look One

I snagged a few of these scarves at Free People because I knew that I would find some way to style them in the neck few weeks. I was trying to figure out what this outfit needed and a printed scarf as a belt looked pretty cool! Adds just the right amount of interest without being over the top.

Look Two

Classic work look – switch up the color of the shoes and bag to make it your own. Could go with nude/taupe heels & bag or blush pink if you want something a little more exciting!

White Collared Top // Gold Twisted Hoop Earrings // Quilted Bag // Green Wide Leg Chinos (same style w/o pockets) // Black Pumps

Look Three

I wanted to style these snakeskin loafers (which I also have in plain leather AND leopard). Love the fit of this tank and the high cut neckline – I thought it was unique but still a staple piece to style into the fall with jackets. Also, I really like the classic fit of the denim jacket.

Look Four

This is probably my favorite look and I was honestly surprised to love it so much because I thought the yellow would not work with these pants but somehow it DOES. The cute sweater tee also comes in cream, obsessed!

Look Five

Kept it low-key with this look but I just wanted to show how you could do a print with these pants if you kept the other elements of the outfit relatively simple. Love it!

Striped Button Up // Green Wide Leg Chinos (same style w/o pockets)// Cognac Mules

Look Six

I styled this look back in April and if you live somewhere warm you can sport the sandal look until about…October (cause that’s when it gets ‘colder’ in Texas, ha!) Also, have we counted how many ways I have styled this white button-up? It’s clearly a favorite of mine.

Look Seven

Love the addition of a little animal print – this look is perfect to go from work to happy hour!
