The second trend (as part of our series) I want to highlight for this coming season is the revival of the mod squad look – with black and white checks and an emphasis on BOLD colors, BIG stripes, or OVER-sized geometric prints. From what I understand, it all started with Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2013 RTW debut at the Fall 2012 fashion shows.. And it has definitely caught on. I love the tibi and kate spade take on the mod squad check trend, although the basic black and white check (I’ve seen a lot at asos & nasty gal) is really cute too. The good part about it is that even after this season has passed, checkered prints will still be “in” (or acceptable), unlike most trendy looks. Click to see a little round up after the jump!
