Augustinus Bader The Cream: Thoughts & Review

brighton butler bader cream

Getting a little fancy today and sharing my thoughts and a little review of the Augustinus Bader The Cream!! I say fancy because in case you don’t know, this face moisturizer is one of the most lux options on the market. I decided to share a review because I feel like there are a lot of questions out there about whether or not the hype is real and if it’s worth the $$$. After using it for about a year, I 100% know for certain that I am in love with it and that it, without question, changed my skin. And not only does the creator of the brand come with an amazing backstory, The Cream CLEARLY does its job and then some!! I totally understand it’s not in everyone’s budget/price range as it is a pretty hefty splurge. But, I have found that at least for me, the results are worth the extra cash.

I’m someone that is constantly trying to mix up my skincare game. I’ve gone from not really knowing what I’m doing to actually having a decent routine. In that routine, are lots of different brands and products, like Tula (I wrote about one of my favorite products here) and a couple skincare tools that I am using and loving, but now I am going to share why I am an absolute die-hard for The Cream and the reasons it’s in my routine for good.

Before I dive into why I love the Bader cream and all its benefits, I want to share a bit of the founder’s story. While his story doesn’t necessarily justify the price of the cream, it definitely shows the time, research and effort that has gone into the development of not only The Cream but all Bader products.

Augustinus Bader’s Story

Bader (pronounced like bah-der) is a biomedical scientist, physician and humanitarian who has been in the field for 30+ years… I mean already impressive right?! He is an expert in stem cell biology with a mission to help burn victims. He was successful in 2008 when he created The Wound Gel, which promoted self-healing without the need for surgery. You can read more about his research here, but this is what inspired the skincare line which is known as the “Blue Bottle Era” (all his products come in cobalt blue packaging).

The Cream

Like I said above, The Cream changed my skin for the better. Let’s face it, none of us are getting any younger and if you want a little anti-aging boost, this is going to be your new BFF. I have tried a lot of products and yet I am constantly reaching for this. I have *actually* seen a long-term difference in my skin compared to other products that might just give me more instant but temporary gratification.

So what makes it stand out compared to other creams and moisturizers? For me, my skin has been the smoothest it has ever been by far since I started using it. I swear after I put it on my skin glows. The texture is better, fine lines are not as noticeable and my face just seems so much smoother if that makes sense. Like any little bumps I had are gone. It’s one of the most “high-tech” skincare products I use, referring to all the research and science that went into its development, and I think that’s a major tipping point in what makes it “different”.

Benefits/Application

The Cream advertises helping frown lines and wrinkles all while giving your skin ultimate hydration. Over time, you notice your skin becomes more glowy, hydrated and your lines and wrinkles become less noticeable. And all my new moms can attest that you just age a little quicker once you have a little one. I started using it while I was pregnant and can tell a difference in the fine lines. And listen, I know you’ve heard it all before but this one works (for me at least). I have shared this before but I have also struggled with redness on my nose, and I can see a dramatic difference with that too.

You only need a couple small pumps and that will cover your entire face and neck. I can’t stress enough that a little goes a long way. If you over pump, you are going to run out of product way faster than you want to and will be peeved that you just spent that much money. I use it on bare clean skin, which is what is recommended, so it can immediately soak into my pores and make me look like a hydrated goddess. When I am using this product, I tend not to use any face oils afterward because it leaves my skin feeling a bit oily. This is probably different for everyone depending on your skin type, but that’s my experience.

The *official* benefits according to the brand include:

  • Clinically proven to reduce the signs of aging including the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.
  • Stimulates production of collagen, promotes elasticity and normalizes the skin barrier, leaving skin fresh, supple, plump, and smooth.
  • Deeply hydrating, conditioning and renewing for an even, vibrant, glowing complexion.
  • Reduces redness, calms stressed skin. Prevents damage from environmental aggressors.
  • TFC8® supports cellular renewal and guides key ingredients to the cells.

Let’s talk about TFC8 a little bit more below because this is the difference maker I think!

Ingredients

TFC8 is how all the magic happens. It is a patented technology made up of amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and aloe vera. Which, if you don’t know what all that means, it is basically all the goods that help with aging, hydration, skin health, etc. The Bader website also said TFC8 “creates an optimal environment for repair and renewal and will ultimately help to slow (and reverse) the skin aging process.”

Umm, yes, please!!

Cost/how long does it last?

I buy the biggest bottle (I’m on my third one and have been using it for just under a year, so that speaks to how long it lasts), which costs $265 for 1.69oz… now breathe. It lasts me about 3 months, and to lessen the sting, if you think about it, $88 a month for a GREAT moisturizer is not too shabby. A little goes a long way, so you can probably even stretch that out a bit further. Also, a nice side benefit: 5% of every purchase is donated!!

I really just can’t say enough positive things about this brand and The Cream. If you want to give it a try without having to buy a large bottle, they actually have a travel size option for $85, so that’s a great way to test it out to see if you want to go all-in!!

I hope this was helpful and makes it a bit easier to give The Cream a try because it truly is worth the hype!!
