What can I do other than be honest with you?

[Chalkboard // flashcards on my desk…]

…In my opinion, not much. I’m not going to pretend I’m living some life that I’m not. As most of you know, I’ve been spending my time finishing up my educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam and working part-time since January. And although my studies and work were time-consuming, I still had lots of freedom. In other words, life has been pretty great, and I’ve been able to pour myself into this blog and have loved every second of it! But things are about to change. And I feel like I should fill you in on what’s going on behind the scenes so you’ll understand if things are different around here. (Although I’m not sure if they will be…)

For starters, you should know that taking outfit pictures is pretty time-consuming. I was able to do it, though, over the past few months because my schedule was flexible enough to block out time to shoot/edit/etc. (I would usually shoot a few outfits at once….that seemed to be the most efficient way to do it). I still plan on doing outfit posts, but I doubt I will get to do them as often as I would like. Why will my time be limited? well, I know I’ve mentioned it several times–so if you’re familiar with my CPA situation, then you can skip this–but for the next six months, I will be devoting my life/time/energy to studying for and taking the four sections of the CPA exam in order to become a certified public accountant. Anyway, most people take the test over the course of 18 months while they work full-time, but I want to get it all done before I start work at PWC in January (especially since I’m starting during busy season!). Thus, I will have to basically treat this exam as my job. In addition, I’ve decided to continue working part-time at my current job while I study since I enjoy it so much and need to save anyway. so….I’ll be studying at least 5-6 hours a day and, in my case, working 3-4 hours as well.

Needless to say, I’ll be pretty busy. I’m not trying to sound important. or complain. or make you feel sorry for me or anything like that. I just wanted to let you know what was going on in my life. and why you might see less outfit posts or be reading about me studying.  The good things is that I absolutely love blogging here at BrightonTheDay, so I enjoy working on the blog. And I don’t know about you, but we always seem to make time for the things that are important to us and that we enjoy. Right? Also, I still want to be involved with the development and excitement of Dee Keller Designs, and this blog is a great way for me to share that with you.

I know this post is pretty boring, but hey, it’s reality and an honest update on what’s going on behind the scenes. And although BrightonTheDay is a bright and cheery blog about life, fashion, and randoms, it’s also somewhat of a reflection of what’s going on in my life, what’s inspiring me, and what I’m interested in etc. For those of you who made it to the end of this post, wow! I’m impressed! Just an FYI, I still plan on posting every week day and then on the weekends, if time/energy/motivation permit.

(oh, and for the record, I’m actually pretty excited to take this exam and get it over with. I know it will be hard, but it’s definitely important material and will be beneficial to know :))
