Chambray Shirt

All hail the jean shirt outfit! Is there anything more classic, American style than a chambray shirt? I’m telling y’all, I get so much wear out of the chambray shirts in my closet. I wear mine all the time and could put together a jean shirt outfit for just about every day of the week! Anyone else? So it probably goes without saying that the “jean shirt outfit” section of the BTD outfit guide is loaded with some cute jean shirt outfits for you!

Truth be told, putting together jean shirt outfits is probably one of my favorite kinds of looks to style because you can do SO MUCH with denim. Denim is essentially another neutral and pretty much goes with all colors, so it’s really easy to pair it with other pieces and textures. Chambray can also be easily dressed up or down depending on what you pair it with and how you accessorize.

I love a good Canadian tuxedo, especially when a “third piece” is added like a cognac leather belt, a vest, or in this case a cream blazer! I’ve found that denim on denim outfits typically look best when I pair contrasting-colored pieces of denim like I did here with dark jeans and a lighter chambray button up. I love the look of cognac accessories – like this bag – when worn with denim. Something about the contrast just WORKS. Don’t you think? I wore this outfit for my blog post on something I think about often and have actually lived by my entire life – but never really had a name for it until I read Mark Manson’s book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F$#%.
