I’ve mentioned in some recent blog posts how I don’t shop a lot of maternity clothes when I’m pregnant. Typically, I try to stick to non-maternity clothing that will work with a bump. But there are some pieces of clothing, like denim, that I just have to go maternity on.

I recently broke down and bought my first pair of maternity shorts and honestly like them WAY more than I thought I would. In fact, I like them so much that I decided to go all out with these adorable maternity overalls and some white maternity denim that I can wear during the summer.

When I’m not pregnant, I’m usually in a size 2 or XS in almost every brand, but I sized up on both the overalls and the shorts even though they’re maternity. I highly recommend reading the reviews before you purchase any maternity clothing. Since my body changes so much during pregnancy, there is no way I could squeeze into an XS in these overalls. I sized up to a medium and they fit perfectly!

I’ve been pretty open on my Instagram about my struggles with my body changing during pregnancy. It’s way more difficult than I remember with Four (I am convinced we block out the worst parts of pregnancy so we will actually do it again!) and sharing photos of me pregnant each day is tough. But I’m working through it, and honestly, I’m more worried about being comfortable at this point! So sizing up was a no-brainer on these pieces. (I did keep my normal size for the denim pants because they have a lot more give than the overalls and shorts.)

If you’re pregnant, I highly encourage you to embrace how amazing your body is during this time. God created us to do some pretty incredible things and I’m choosing to focus on that instead of being down about the changes!
