#BTDfallBasics Round 2

fall-2

After putting together last week’s Fall Basics post here on BTD, I decided that there were a few MORE items that I needed to include in my fall basics and essentials round up. And now that I’ve finished this one, I’m thinking…oh shoot yeah I forgot to include THIS and THAT but oh well! So anyway, here is round 2 for y’all!

Let me know if you have any questions or are looking for anything in particular that I can help with! As always, I’m happy to help you in your search.

Trench Coat // Hunter Boots // Denim Jacket (also here + darker wash here) // Utility Jacket // Moto Jacket (similar here) // Duck Boots // Cable Knit Sweater (also here and here for under $50) // Gingham Shirt // Suede Boots // Long Necklace // Striped Turtleneck // Comfy (camp) Socks // Wedge Booties // Chunky Pullover // Open Front Cardigan (and here) // Plaid Blanket Scarf // Burgundy Lipstick

Trench Coat – I’ve wanted a Burberry trench coat for like EVER but haven’t quite found the right occasion to splurge on one yet. In the meantime, I’ll stick with this one from Topshop (similar from Topshop for under $80 OR here’s one from F21 for $29). here are a few other ones for you to choose from below:

Hunter Boots – they’re actually more of a year round staple for obvious reasons, but I think they’re super cute to wear more regularly (even when it’s not necessarily raining) during the Fall. I have the matte red color and the shiny black :) and wear mine all the time

Denim Jacket – I have both a light wash one and a dark wash and next one my list is an oversized one for more laid-back looks. I love layering with my denim jacket and then sometimes even wearing a puffer or utility vest OVER it

Utility Jacket – but really though, have you not seen these things everywhere lately? They’re so necessary and the olive color is great for mixing and matching and acts as a neutral. I actually have two of these jackets. I love this one from Topshop because it’s super thin and easy to layer (and not feel like a marshmallow) and then I also like this one (highly recommend and also comes in black) because it’s cut a little bit more like a jacket and has a different look than the Topshop one.

Leather Moto Jacket – I finally found one I like at a vintage shop while I was in Milan, but it seems like this look is coming back because I’ve been seeing this style everywhere lately and for great prices too.

Cable Knit Sweaters – because they’re comfy and awesome and look cute too :) I think you need both a shorter/cropped one for layering gingham/plaid underneath and then you also need one that’s oversized to wear with booties and skinny jeans

Gingham Shirts – and plaid too of course (but I already mentioned that in the Fall Basics Round 1 blog post)

Suede Boots – the ones pictured above are by Dolce Vita and I’m pretty sure will sell out SUPER fast. Aren’t they beautiful? I love the cognac color of the suede.

Turtlenecksthe one pictured above is from J.Crew and is a MUST have for layering

Open Front Cardigan – for throwing on after-the-fact and looking effortlessly chic and being comfortable at the same time

Chunky Pullovers – because YES; gimme all of them please. Not gonna lie, I just ordered this one for myself. It’s not really very chunky but it IS super oversized and that is (praise hands emoji) in my book!

Scarves – they’re not as much fun to buy (kind of like belts), but they’re great to have when you need that one little detail to pull an outfit together // (link to one pictured above)

Burgundy Lipstick – I personally like “Scarlet Empress” by NARS

Comfy (camp) Socks – if you saw my instagram yesterday, then you saw how cute these can be when peeking out of your boots. I love mine and wear them around the house too
