Beach Must-Haves for Kids (That You Can Order from Amazon)

We just got back from our first family trip to the beach! We visited Seaside, Georgia, with my family and it was the perfect way to spend the week. I got to spend time with my sisters and their kiddos who we don’t get to see often enough. Plus, I got to experience the beach with Four and Blake. There is nothing better than getting to see the world through the eyes of your kids. I’m telling you, it’s heaven on earth.

Sea Island was a great choice for this trip. The beaches are beautiful but weren’t too crowded. And while it was still really warm, it felt like a nice break from the Texas heat.

Since this was my first time traveling with both kids, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I also didn’t know what we’d need when it came to the beach. Thankfully, there were plenty of blog posts online that I referenced to get a general idea. And my sisters offered some great suggestions. But even then, we ended up having to rent some items (like the Slumperpod and Veer cruiser) once we got there.

What I learned traveling with kids to the beach

After this trip, I feel like I’ve got a much better handle on what you need at the beach with kids versus what is just nice to have. There is such a thing as bringing *too much* for sure. But I ordered this giant mesh beach bag on Amazon a couple of days before we left. I’m so glad I did. It held a lot and was so easy to rinse the sand off once we were done for the day.

I thought it might be helpful to round up the things I would consider “must-haves” if you’re going to the beach with kids. Yes, you can survive without most of these things. But they were really helpful and made the beach days pretty seamless all things considered. Also, you can order all of them on Amazon.
