Mixing Prints: Finding a Common Denominator

Blouse: Tibi Jude Silk Shirt (c/0) // Shorts: F21 ($17) // Lips: NARS Scarlet Empress // Sunglasses: Michael Kors // Watch: MK Lexington Watch in gold // Nails: Essie A List // Bracelets: J. I think one of the tricks to mixing prints is to find a common denominator between the two. I’ll be honest with you and say that I figured this out after the fact. Meaning, I didn’t think about the “why” until putting together this post. And it wasn’t until I uploaded the photos and and asked myself, “what makes this work?”, that I realized something. I noticed that the shorts and the blouse both have prominent, black accents that seemingly balance and unify the two contrasting prints. What do you think?
