This Spring and Summer, designers are thinking WAY outside the box and far beyond their own backyards. They’re thinking global unlike they ever have before. Drawing inspiration from exotic cultures, folklore and native textile-techniques, many of the SS14 collections are not only intricately detailed and patterned but also inspire a sense of multiculturalism and rich history. Think modernized (less hipster-ish) fringe, tassels, feathers and graphic embroidery; strappy sandals, beaded accessories and statement baubles; geometric shapes, vibrant colors and exotic patterns.

Yeah, that’s a lot of WOW; and a-whole-lotta  fun if you ask me. So….get excited to celebrate the many beautiful cultures of this world, possibly venturing a little out of your comfort zone, and embracing the global trend this season!
