Spring isn’t officially here for a few more weeks, but it’s definitely time to start prepping your closet for it! Maybe it’s because so many people shop fast on Instagram, but things seem to sell out SO fast these days – especially with new seasonal clothing. So I’m getting ready a little early. If you are too, I wanted to put together the essentials that you’ll REALLY want in your closet this season! It’s nothing crazy or groundbreaking, but these three essentials will be your go-to pieces, especially as we transition into spring. If you need to spruce up your current version of said item, or don’t have one yet, you can shop each essential below, too. A lot of these items are on sale or super reasonable, so I hope y’all enjoy the prices!
Luckily for me and my closet, long cardigans are still very much happening. They’re honestly one of my FAVE things to wear, and I have quite a few. I just find they can be worn dressed up, whether with a lace cami or heeled booties, or down, like with a striped t-shirt and sneakers. They’re cozy yet not hot, and I just find myself wearing them every single season – almost every day. Especially as the days get a little warmer, look to longer cardigans to be your go-to. Make sure you have a light neutral (like gray or tan) to feel appropriate for sunnier days and spring vibes! I’m also really into the ribbed variety to switch things up.
Y’all probably noticed every blogger wearing the circle Chloe bag last year, setting the trend of circle bags. Which I think are SO freaking cute! Especially the straw versions, I looove. But look for a circle bag to add a little pop of uniqueness to whatever you’re wearing this spring. Again, these can obviously be dressed up or down, and I’ve bought a couple different ones – one for day time, one for night. These will definitely sell out as the season approaches, so shop quick!
Mules aren’t brand new, but they’ll be bigger than ever this season. And if you haven’t fallen in love with them yet, get ready to. They’re honestly the best! They’re really comfy – kinda like wedges, and can add that effortless cool to any outfit – yet they dress it up a bit. I like having a few options: a higher block heel, closed-toe kitten heels, and then obviously mule-style flats (open and closed-toe). I love them for spring, too, since they are backless but not full sandals – they just feel appropriate. Especially in colored and metallic – so funnn! P.S., mules look best with slightly cropped pants in my opinion, so be sure to shop for a cropped pair of jeans to match these with. Super flattering!
