First off, how the HECK is it March?! Like wow. But here we are!
I shared what I do to start each month in this post and something that’s come from it has been finding personal ‘focus areas’ for the following month. I basically assess my month prior (like I mentioned in that post) and then see what I’m feeling/missing/needing in my life. Usually the focuses come pretty naturally and I love that I have these new areas to think about with the upcoming month. Since these focuses come into play here on BTD, I wanted to share them with y’all! Obviously some are personal and I don’t need to share them here – but a few are definitely relevant on the site.
I’m really excited about what we have planned for y’all in March and what I’ll be focusing on. Spring is coming and I feel like everyone always gets a little motivated this year, and I’m trying to keep going with that. Keep reading to see a few of the things I’m focusing on in life + here on BTD! They honestly all kind of blend together, which is cool, too!
Spring Capsule Wardrobe & Transitional Style
Hopefully y’all saw by now but I launched the Spring Capsule Wardrobe on Friday!! I’ve been so freaking excited about this! I really want to use the month of March to show y’all all the ways to use the capsule in your life. Plus, it’s that time of year when transitional style is coming into play. I know we’re all excited for spring, but it’s not hot yet. So I’ll be talking about how to use your wardrobe to transition from winter to spring (within the capsule and regular posts) without having to buy much. Which leads me to…
The Pursuit of Less
Ah YESSSS. I’ve hinted about the pursuit of less over the last six months or so and I’m still in love with this idea. I’m not trying to live a completely minimal lifestyle or something (that’s not me and it’s also hard with my job), BUT I do think we can ALL make strides to living with less. From consumption to shopping to to-do lists to commitments and so on, there’s a LOT going on in our lives, right? I’m on a mission to eliminate what isn’t serving me anymore, all while finding a balance and establish priorities.
I’m going to be sharing a lot of ways I’m doing this (or how you can do this) on BTD in March, and the capsule was basically the kickoff. I actually think the Capsule is a perfect way to explain what I mean here (the balance). Because I mentioned in this post, the “capsule” is simply a FOUNDATION of outfits for spring. It hints at buying less, wearing what you already have, re-wearing items and so on, BUT it’s not like it’s all I’m wearing for the next few months. It feels like a healthy balance to me and it feels good!
I’m trying to use that mindset in a lot of aspects of my life – from my home to social media detoxes to my calendar to single-tasking to what I’m producing on this site! Excited to dive into this more so stay tuned, friends!
Spring Cleaning & Decluttering
We’ve done a lot of organizing and Spring Cleaning pieces on BTD but I always like to dive back into it this time of year. I mean, who doesn’t freaking love a good spring clean right?? But I know it can be SO overwhelming – which is where a lot of us (me included) get tripped up. This year I’m taking a bit of a different approach and I’ll be sharing that with y’all on Wednesday!
