Peasant Top and Flatforms

The Age Of The “Flatform” Espadrille

If you’ve been paying attention so far this spring, then you’ve probably noticed that “flatforms” are ALL the rage. I mean, they’re literally everywhere. It’s funny because I can remember back in 2014 (when I used to work for my mom) seeing them everywhere at Micam, which is the big Italian shoe trade show they hold a few times a year. And typically, Europe is a few seasons ahead of the U.S. so it makes sense that they’d be a huge hit about 2 years ago in the European markets. It’s so funny how fashion works sometimes.

The Denim Skirt Is Making A Comeback, Y’all

Or at least I think it is? Either way, I’m totally rooting for a hard comeback. It’s coming friends – it’s just a matter of when!

I can remember the denim skirt being SUCH a “thing” back in 7th grade. But really, I distinctly remember being in the 7th grade and wanting to make sure I had the coolest denim skirt to wear with my logo uniform top to school. And if I remember correctly, it was even cooler if you wore your denim skirt with Birkenstocks. Ahhhh, the memories are coming back – ’twas a fabulous year for fashion statements.

If you’re wondering why I only needed to wear a uniform top (lol or maybe you’re not), let me give you a little backstory (which is totally random and insignificant but true none the less). Seventh grade was the “implementation” slash transitional year for implementing uniforms. Sixth grade was the last year of free dress and to my 13-year-old self, this was VERY Sad news. So for this in-between year, you only needed to wear the uniform top and/or sweatshirt before diving head first into head-to-toe (literally, shoes too) uniform the next year. Just a little meaningless random detail for ya :)

ANYWAYS, this little denim skirt is the perfect essential for any summer day or night! I love that you can dress it up or down and it looks fantastic with a little off the shoulder top for a fun and sassy outfit. It is a must for every gal’s closet.
