Hello from Dallas! I’m so sad our Mexico trip is over (we got back on Sunday), but it’s nice to be back in the swing of things. San Miguel is a place that’s been on Duncan’s bucket list since before I even met him, and it did not disappoint.
We spent 5 days there (including travel days) and I felt like it was the perfect amount of time to soak in all of the beautiful scenery and enjoy time relaxing on the beach without ever feeling bored or like we needed something to do.
I’ve gotten a lot of questions about what I packed for our trip. I answered some on Instagram, but I figured a blog post would be helpful too so I could share sizing and such.
Since I’m pregnant, I feel like I really only packed swimsuits and dresses for this trip. I did bring some workout clothes for when we decided to explore the city, but honestly, other than that, I lived in all things loose and flowy. With my pregnancy nausea being so bad still, I knew there wouldn’t be a ton of walking around. Thankfully, I was able to manage at least one day of exploration because the city area is seriously beautiful.
Alright, let’s get down to what I brought/wore on the trip. Like I said, we spent a lot of time lounging on the beach, so I had a swimsuit on every single day we were there. I’m not usually a huge fan of one-piece swimsuits, but this knotted suit from Tory Burch is so cute and worked perfectly with the bump. I also brought my favorite two-piece swimsuit — I joke that this is the most extra swimsuit I own, but I just love the ruffles.
Dresses were the other clothing item that I wore a lot during this trip. Whether we were out walking around or going to a nicer dinner, I brought a dress for every occasion. This maxi dress is so comfortable and was perfect for a little light exploring. I’m also OBSESSED with this mini dress that I wore for dinner one night. It’s so flattering and looks so nice in person. The colors are also just perfect for a beach vacation!
For jewelry and accessories, I kept things minimal. I knew I didn’t want to bring anything super expensive because I’d heard stories about people getting robbed, so I wore this gorgeous eternity band I found on Amazon for $20. It’s seriously stunning. I pretty much wore this necklace and these earrings every day too.
Hopefully, if you’ve got a trip to the beach booked soon, this will give you some inspo and ideas for what to bring! See below for my sizing on everything.
