Welcome To The New BTD!

I can’t believe this day is finally here! I have been dreaming up this moment since late 2015. At that time, the idea for this new website was just that: an idea. But it grew into so much more as I continued to think through some of these ideas. Specifically, back in July of 2016, I did a post on Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale where I picked my favorite six pieces and styled them each three different ways. I got so frustrated while creating this post because I felt super restricted by the capabilities and functions of my website. I felt like the kind of interactive, easy to follow content that I really wanted to give you wasn’t possible with the tools the site offered.

So, it got me thinking. In a perfect world, what kind of website would allow BTD to best serve you? What kind of functions would it take to meet your styling/wardrobe needs?

After giving these questions some thought, I realized that in order to give you the best possible BTD experience, I was going to have to think outside of the stereotypical blog box. For example, there’s SO much content on Brighton the Day, but the website was only showing you what was most current. There really wasn’t a good way for you to navigate through all of the resources and posts that are available to you. I couldn’t stand that!

The new Brighton the Day website was built with YOU in mind.

Now I’m going to get a little sappy with you. When we talk about you, our reader, BTD doesn’t call you “our reader”. We call you Sarah. Of course, we know you aren’t all named Sarah, but we like to put a name to our readers to remember that it’s the content we create isn’t for a nameless, faceless audience. BTD is about YOU. Every single one of you.

Here’s a note from me to you:

Dear BTD Reader,

This entire website was designed for you. I had you in mind while making each and every design, function, and content-based decision. My vision for this blog – and ultimately the BTD brand – is to serve you. To make your life easier, provide you with fashion and lifestyle inspiration to help you look and feel your best. I hope you find value here at BTD, and I hope that you stick around.

Xo,

Brighton

Okay, now for the fun stuff!

What’s New On BrightonTheDay?

BTD Daily

We create all kinds of content off of the BTD blog, and now you can find it organized all in one spot. At BTD DAILY, you’ll find the latest links to items we discuss on Instagram stories, what we’re loving right now, and other fast-type content that doesn’t lend itself to an entire blog post format. Here, you’ll find additional details for all the things we discuss on Instagram stories so you can refer back to it later.

The Outfit Guide

I noticed that a lot of y’all were scrolling through pages of “outfit” archives, which brought me to the conclusion that sometimes you just want to get outfit inspiration rather than read content. I totally get that! Back in 2016, I set out to figure out a way to have a separate section of my blog where you could easily and quickly peruse hundreds of outfits. We created the outfit guide which allows you to filter outfits by different wardrobe items – like leggings or denim jackets. Additionally, you can view outfits by season and attire.

Shopping Experience

Click around the new shopping experience: it’s brand new! In this part of the new website, you’ll find a carefully curated set of products that we love and want to share with you. There will be some categories that are evergreen, like beauty & books, and some that we make sure to update each season. Have fun clicking around; we think you’ll find plenty of things you’ll like.

FAQ

It’s been a long time coming, but I am thrilled to announce we have a FAQ! The goal is to answer all your questions before you ask them so you can find what you’re looking for right away. It’s super simple to submit a question if there are a few we missed.

So, after many late night, early mornings, and hours of work on the new BTD website, it’s time for you to enjoy it! I am so blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of so many y’alls lives out there.
