I love a good vest – always have and always will. Believe it or not, they’re actually REALLY hard to find! I’m ALWAYS on the lookout, but I rarely come across them (or good ones at least!). It’s the weirdest thing. Are they not cool or something? Okay I take that back (about never coming across them). Because I DO occasionally see one here or there, but they’re like a zillion dollars (i.e. doesn’t exist as far as I’m concerned).

I scored this one from one of my favorite (budget) shopping sites: Nasty Gal. They have some pretty weird stuff, I’ll admit, but if you can scroll past the strangely-cut tops and hootchie-mama “outfits” (and maybe some other craziness with see-through fabric and such), you can actually find some pretty legit steals! Take my vest for example! I think it was around $60, which was pretty good compared to the competition and how much I’ve worn it! Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t look like it’s available anymore. OH, and for the record, you should know that they’re also called gillets, waistcoats, and sleeveless jackets (I think they’re just called vests in the US).
