#NSALE – 6 Fall Essentials Styled 3 Ways

2017 6 items x 3 ways

Y’all! I’m so excited about this post! I worked all day putting this one together for you guys and I hope you find it helpful and informative for your #NSALE shopping! I did the same thing last year and you all seemed to really enjoy it (all year long actually!). It’s a big one – so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy :) And please feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Pick - Striped shirt

Pick No. 1: Simple Black and White Striped Shirt

The one I’m actually wearing in these photos actually sold out on the very first day of early access, but I also got the Caslon Long Sleeve Striped Tee ($29 Marked Down To $19and it’s a great striped shirt as well. The only different really is the material (it has more cotton in it), it’s a little more fitted and it has a crew neck instead of a v-neck. Even still, I think it’s a great find and a simple striped shirt is ESSENTIAL for Fall layering and putting outfits together! Now let’s go through these outfits so you can get a closer look at how I styled the shirt in each of them.

Striped Shirt: Look One

Drape front vest

Pick No. 2: Cashmere Drape Front Vest (Marked down to $99)

Personally, the NSALE is the only time I ever buy cashmere because the markdowns are the best I’ve seen and you’re able to get really great, valuable (new!) pieces. So I actually picked up this drape front vest in black and tan (see outfit in this post) and have loved styling both of them. For $99, I think it’s a great piece that will serve as the “finishing factor” for many fall outfits – for when you want to pull an outfit together. I love that the length looks great with short shoes (like flats and booties) as well as tall boots too – the differing heights work well (does that even make sense lol?)

Green cardigan

Pick No. 3: Long Green Cardigan

I’m always a sucker for a green cardigan – it’s one of my favorite things to wear during the Fall. I will say though – that if you’re town between getting the cream or the olive (get the cream!). But if you’re looking for something to mix things up, then get another color! Green can also serve as an easy neutral and styled multiple ways as well – an easy way to add a little more color to your fall wardrobe. PS: This is selling out fast

Look one

green cardigan with sweatshirt hoodie dress and ugg boots

Outfit Details:
Leith Shawl Collar Cardigan (wearing size XS) // Price $79 Marked Down To $52
Sweatshirt Hood Dress (wearing size XS) // Price $39 Marked Down To $25Heads up about this dress. I’m 5’4″ and I think the length is perfect (I personally like shorter dresses) but if you’re any taller, I wouldn’t recommend it as I think it will for sure be too short on you!
UGG Daley Boot (fit TTS) // Price: $249 marked down to $164

 Look Two

nordstrom anniversary sale picks 15

Outfit Details:
Leith Shawl Collar Cardigan  // Price $79 Marked Down To $52
BP. Long Sleeve Striped Shirt (XS)  // $29 Marked Down To $18
Rag & Bone 10 in. Ankle Skinny (TTS) // Price: $198 Marked Down To $131
Vince Camuto Madolee OTK Boot (run TTS) // Price: $239.95 – marked down to $159

Look three

green cardigan and cream sweater with peep toe booties

Outfit Details:
Leith Shawl Collar Cardigan (wearing size XS)  // Price $79 Marked Down To $52
Socialite Thermal Top (wearing size XS – GREAT FIND) // Price $38 Marked Down To $24 – Y’ALL. I am actually really loving this easy top and could easily have included it in this round up and styled it 3 different ways (but I had to stop somewhere lol). Anyways, if you’re looking for a non-white top that can serve as a great neutral for layering your fall outfits I would highly recommend this one. The weight is JUST right and the color too!
FRAME Le High Skinny Jeans  //  Price $235 Marked Down To $154
Vince Camuto Fileana Bootie (run TTS – color TAUPE) // Price: $149.95 – marked down to $99

Suede skirt

Pick No. 4: BlankNYC Suede Skirt

I talked about this skirt in my post yesterday, but I loved it so much that I wanted to style it 3 different ways for y’all to show you how versatile it is. And plus, it’s just such a great fit in my opinion. I personally like how it’s on the shorter side because I think it makes for a cuter outfit – but heads up, it IS pretty short (personal preference I guess!). If you’re worried about it being too short, then maybe size up and wear it lower on your hips? Either way, it’s worth trying out – returns are so easy with Nordstrom anyway!

Outfit No. 1

suede skirt, slides, bow blouse

Outfit Details:
Halogen Bow Neck Top // $79 Marked Down To $49 – If you saw my Instagram LIVE with my room mate Katie, then you saw us gushing over how much we loved this top! Isn’t it adorable? It was one of her picks (see all Katie’s picks in yesterday’s post if you  missed it! She’s ADORABLE! scroll to bottom to see her favorites). We decided that it would be PERFECT for work or even play too because it’s just so stinkin’ cute!
BlankNYC Suede Skirt (wearing size 24) // $98 Marked Down To $64
Halogen ‘Corbin’ Slide Loafer // Price: $89.95 – marked down to $59

Outfit Two

nordstrom anniversary sale pick 2017 - what to buy

haha heyyyy AGAIN with this outfit – are you sick of it yet? I obviously liked a lot of the items I wore here because I styled each of them multiple ways!

outfit details:
Halogen Drape Front Cashmere Vest  (wearing size XS) // $149 Marked Down To $98
BP. Long Sleeve Striped Shirt (XS – exact sold out but see similar here)  // $29 Marked Down To $18
BlankNYC Suede Skirt (wearing size 24) // $98 Marked Down To $64
Stuart Weitzman Elevated Boot (size down 1/2 size) | Price: $798.00 – marked down to $499

Outfit No. 3

suede skirt, white tee, lace up black flats

Outfit Details:
V-neck white tee (wearing size S – selling out REALLY fast) // Price: $24 – marked down to $15
BlankNYC Suede Skirt // $98 Marked Down To $64
Halogen Ankle Wrap Flats // Price: $89.95 – marked down to $59

Cream cardigan

Pick NO. 5: Long Cream Cardigan

I mean I feel like a longer cream cardigan goes without saying. If you don’t already have one, get one. Because trust me, you’ll find yourself wearing it. This one comes in a few colors – if you don’t already have a black one, I’d recommend that too! But between black and cream, I find myself grabbing the cream color more when putting together outfits (but that’s just me).

UPDATE: This is sold out now (ALL THE SAD FACES – but I told you….the good stuff goes REALLY fast). There are a few other options as far as cream cardigans go if you’re still hoping to find one. I just looked through all the options and my other 2 favorite picks ALSO sold out. There are two left: this one is a great price (but a different look because of the ribbing) and if you’re budget can afford it, I would FOR SURE get this one by Vince. It’s pricey but beautiful!

Outfit One

NSALE cardigan, striped tee, jeans

Outfit Details:
Caslon short-sleeve stripe tee // Price: $25 – marked down to $17 – This tee is part of the sale every year, and I’ll continue to recommend it year after year because it’s such a great basic. You can see how I styled it multiple ways in my 6 pieces 3 ways post from last year here!
BP Cream cardigan (wearing size XS) // Price: $49 – marked down to $31
DL Jeans (wearing size 25 – fit TTS) //  Price: $178 – marked down to $99
Halogen ‘Corbin’ Slide Loafer // Price: $89 – marked down to $59 – I’m actually going to return these in this color and get the leopard instead. I feel like the color blends too much with my skin tone. But if you’ve got darker skin, these might be great for you!

Outfit Two

cream cardigan, white jeans, booties, pink tank

Outfit Details:
BP Cream cardigan (wearing size XS) // Price: $49 – marked down to $31
Leith Blush Camisole (wearing size S – fit is pretty tight) // $35 Marked Down To $22 – I think this blush pink tank will be great for layering and wearing under cardigans this Fall. I like the idea of having an alternative to my usual white and black go-to options for layering. If only they would make something in stripes – that would be perfect too!
SP White Jeans // Price: $58 – marked down to $38
Vince Camuto Karina Peep Toe Bootie – runs TTS // Price: $149 – marked down to $99

 Outfit Three

nordstrom anniversary sale picks 19

Outfit Details:
V-neck white tee (wearing size S) // Price: $24 – marked down to $15
BP Cream cardigan (wearing size XS) // Price: $31.90 – marked down to $49
Rag & Bone 10 in. Ankle Skinny (TTS) //Price: $198 Marked Down To $131
UGG Daley Boot (run TTS) // Price: $249.95 – marked down to $164

Cream sweater

Pick No. 6 Dreamers By Debut Sweater (2 colors)

I got this sweater in both the cream sweater (that I’m featuring in this pick) but I also got it in the green color (you can see how I styled the green in my first round of picks). I can even explain how soft it is in words and the fit is AMAZING. Just trust me on this one! I’m so surprised it hasn’t sold out though yet! It’s such a great find and the colors are amazing too!

denim skirt, hermes belt, white blouse, marc fisher wedges summer outfit_0108

Outfit Details:
Madewell Rhyder Cardigan (wearing XS) // Price: $98 – marked down to $64

SP White Jeans // Price: $58 – marked down to $38
UGG Daley Boot (run TTS) // Price: $249.95 – marked down to $164

outfit three

suede moto jacket with cream sweater and ag jeans and leopard shoes

Outfit Details:
BlankNYC Suede Jacket // Price: $188 – marked down to $125
Dreamers by Debut sweater (wearing XS) // Price: $45 – marked down to $25
AG Jeans (Run TTS)  // Price: $245 – marked down to $163
Halogen ‘Corbin’ Slide Loafer  // Price: $89 – marked down to $59I’m actually wearing Dee Keller shoes because they were sold out of my size in the leopard slides, but I’m ordering those online because I think they’re SO CUTE and would be SO easy to style!

WHEW! That’s it!

You’re so cute!! Question about the NSALE, did the sale start at midnight? And do you know if they restock things during the sale? I’m waiting for for when it opens to the public so I’m hoping to stay up and get all the things I can ASAP! :))

The sale goes live online around 2am! They do restock items for when it open to the public, but not all will be restocked. I’ll be sharing a post with my favorite items that do come back so you can shop that easily (:

Every thing looks the same – I want to see something new and different. I guess this is the “basic sale”. I didn’t find it too exciting. I just don’t need basic things.

Even though the striped shirt in your outfit #1 sold out, can you provide the link to it anyway please? Sometimes they restock before the sale opens to “non early access cardholders” and I’d like to try and find it because of the v-neckline (the Caslon one has a very high crewneck and I already have a similar one). Thank you!

Thank you for doing this Brighton! After the NSALE is over, I’d love to see something like this with “capsule wardrobe” type pieces that you think are a must to always have. I know you did a work clothes edition a while back and I found it so helpful!

I am an “older” reader (I like to think I’m a cool, hip grandma – at least that’s what I tell my kids!), and I’m not as tiny as you Brighton….but much of what you have picked can work for older women as well….with a few age appropriate tweeks. Not the short skirts or dresses – and I can’t wear super skinny jeans, but I fell in love with the cashmere drape front vest and I have to say it really looks good on me. Thank you for posting pictures of outfits that can work for many age groups. Even us grandmas want to look stylish!
