#NSALE: Smartest Investment Pieces To Buy Right now

Investment Pieces - NSALE 2017

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed my little break from the #nsale coverage yesterday – where I talked about how I take back control of my mind when I get overwhelmed by my thoughts and anxiety. I wrote that on the plane ride from Dallas to NYC and (as I mentioned in my insta stories), it actually started out as just a journal entry to myself. Anyway, I’m back again today covering this crazy awesome sale and wanted to focus on investment items.

The #NSALE is a great opportunity to get your investment pieces since there are so many great (new!) items that are marked down. I thought it might be helpful to list out a few of those items for y’all so you can double check your closet and see if you need any of them.

BLANK NYC suede moto jacket and turtleneck

Great-looking Jackets & Vests

Jackets are an essential piece of a Fall/Winter wardrobe. They are lighter than a coat, which is great for Texas, and an amazing layering piece that can complete an outfit. Moto jackets have been in for a couple of seasons and it looks like they are here to stay. So stock up!

Leather Jacket: Trouve Leather Jacket // BlankNYC Leather Moto Jacket // Halogen Leather Moto Jacket

Suede JacketBlankNYC Suede Moto Jacket – fave jacket ever – I have it in MULTIPLE colors! SUCH a good buy y’all! I got size XS and it’s the one I’m wearing in the photo above from last year!

other suggestions: KUT Faux Suede Jacket // Leith Suede Jacket

Fur Vest: Love Token Fur Vest // Love Token Long Fur Vest // Love Token Drape Vest

Designer (or well made) Bags

Investing in handbags is definitely something that I recommend most. If you’re going to be carrying around your bag everyday, you want to buy something that you know will last a long time with little upkeep. These bags below are great for everyday wear and come in the most beautiful neutral colors.

  1. Tory Burch Leather Hobo Bag
  2. Tory Burch Swingpack Leather Bag
  3. Tory Burch Pebbled Tote
  4. Tory Burch Leather Wallet
  5. Longchamp Le Pilage Tote
  6. Rebecca Minkoff Leather Satchel
black swing dress with white scarf and otk boots

Cashmere

I’m usually pretty hesitant to buy cashmere because it’s always so expensive and I can’t justify it. But I think the #NSALE is really the only time it makes sense (for me personally) and I know that investing in cashmere (anything) will last and be a smart investment. I get so much use out of this cashmere scarf I picked up the #NSALE last year – and they have something super similar this year that is just as pretty of a color for $98!

  1. Halogen Cashmere Poncho
  2. Waffle Knit Cashmere Wrap
  3. Cardigan Stitch Cashmere Wrap
  4. Halogen Drape Front Cashmere Vest (sold out in the camel color)

Designer Shoes

I’m a shoe junkie, but when it comes to investment pieces, I look for shoes that have a timeless style. These boots and booties are perfect for the season and are very versatile when it comes to dressing up and down. Consider what colors you wear most in the Fall and pick colors that will complement those.

  1. Rag & Bone Wesley Bootie
  2. Stuart Weitzman Bootie
  3. Rag & Bone Margot Bootie
  4. Tory Burch Riding Boot
  5. Frye Riding Boot
  6. Ugg Daley Tall Boot

Cold Weather Coat

We don’t get too much of a chance to wear coats down in Texas, but nonetheless everyone should have at least one great coat to keep them warm. I was so excited this year that one of my favorite coats came back in stock and was part of the sale! This Olivia Pope wrap coat is amazing and such a classic for any wardrobe.

  1. Halogen Asymmetrical Zip Coat
  2. Ralph Lauren Long Line Coat – always love RL’s coats!
  3. Ted Baker Wrap Coat – BEAUTIFUL!
  4. Trina Turk Shearling Collar Coat – definitely an oversized fit (it was too big on me), but I LOVE the color and the shearling detail!
  5. Tahari Wrap Coat – timeless and great no matter what you’re wearing – goes with everything!
  6. Kate Spade Faux Fur Trim Coat – so cute!

Designer Jeans

I go back and forth between low and high-priced denim in my closet. Some of my favorites range from $50-$250, but the ones that I have seen last the longest are my designer jeans I invested in. The advantages of investing in a good pair of jeans is you don’t have to worry about your denim stretching, fading, or tearing. Plus, you’ll always feel confident in a good fitting pair of jeans.

  1. Rag & Bone Skinny Jeans – top recommendation for which jeans to buy if you’re only going to buy one pair at the sale. I know reviews say mixed things about sizing, but I think these run TTS.
  2. AG Distressed Jeans – got them and have been wearing them a lot (you might have already noticed!).
  3. AG Raw Hem Jeans – love love love! I didn’t get to Nordstrom on time to get my hands on these so they’re in my online shopping cart right now!
  4. FRAME Le High Skinny Jeans
  5. J Brand High Waist Skinny Jean  – I LOVE this high-waisted cut by J. Brand. In fact, I have this same pair in both white and black. I love the stretchy material, skinny ankle and then (of course) the high-waisted fit! I think this is a great pair of black denim and it runs TTS.
  6. CoH High-Waisted (ripped knee) black jeans – this come in a close TIE with the J. Brand “Maria” jeans I listed in No. 5. The cuts are BOTH amazing and to be honest it’s impossible to select a favorite between the two. I own both and love them! The different is that these particular pair of the “rocket” cut have a ripped knee (which I personally love), but I know it’s not for everyone. These jeans also run TTS.
