6 Ways To Style A Bralette This Summer

how to wear a bralette

With Summer in full swing, I feel like now is as good a time as ever to dive into the topic of how to wear a bralette. I don’t know about you, but I’ve found that although I’ve loved the oversized boho-chic look when it comes to cute Summer tops, I’ve also found that I personally feel a bit naked without some sort of layering piece to wear underneath. You know? Like I’m just not one to confidently rock a “sideboob situation” without feeling a bit self-conscious. Some girls can totally pull that off and be fine with it, but not me. I’m like, let’s keep this covered. But I actually like the layered look – aka wearing a bralette under a strappy tank – a lot better for most cases anyway.

All that to say, I thought it would be fun to pull together a blog post illustrating how to wear a bralette and making a case for why you might need to add one to your wardrobe if you haven’t already. I know that I personally wear mine all the time! Plus, with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going on right now, there are plenty of bralette options included that are currently on sale – so now’s a great time to snag one at a discount!

How To Wear A Bralette: 7 Easy Ways To Wear a Bralette This Summer

1. Peeking Out Of Tee Or Low Back Sweater

One of my all-time favorite ways to wear a bralette is when I can show off how cute the back is. Finding a low back sweater or t-shirt can allow for you to show that strappy little number you have on. Plus it’s a super easy and comfortable way to look put together without trying too hard.

2. Under A T-shirt or Camisole

One of my favorite ways, and probably the most common way, I like to wear my bralettes is under my t-shirts. I love the comfort of putting on an oversized v-neck and a fun and flirty bralette for running around town. It’s a great way to dress up your tee with a little feminine frill and detail.

3. Layer Your Bralette Under A Rocker or Loose Tank/Tee

Rocker Tanks are all the rage right now and with those low cut sides, a bralette is a fun addition to the look. With these types of tanks, I tend to go for more of a lacey bra rather than a full-on bralette. Think dainty straps with still a lot of coverage so you don’t feel uncomfortable. This is a cute look for a casual night on the town. Or like I’m wearing in the look above (gosh my hair is so long – WEIRD), I love wearing a racerback bralette with a wide, scoop neck wide scoop neck tee like this one above!

This bra is comfy and cute. It gives you absolute full coverage and is a great throw on when running errands around town. I love the racerback, because it makes it easy to wear under tanks.

4. Wear Your Bralette Under A White Button Down

This look is uber chic and one of the most tasteful ways to showcase your bralette. Find your favorite white button down that maybe fits a little loose and try adding a black bralette underneath for high contrast. 5. Wear Your Bralette With A Lace or Sheer Blouse

I love all of the lace and tulle blouses on trend right now, feminine looks are definitely making a comeback. One way you can spice up this trend that is a bit more modern is by pairing a bralette under these semi-sheer tops. Rather than having to fidget with a long cami underneath and worrying about it peeking out, a bralette will keep you covered and comfortable in whatever blouse you may have on. [Image via Glamour]

6. Wear Your Bralette With A Maxi Skirt

For a summer boho chic look, opt for a maxi skirt and cropped bralette. This is a great outfit for any summer concerts or festivals you may have coming up. It’s also a fun way to show off your favorite bralette and your sun-kissed tan.
