How I Do Cowgirl Chic

Howdy, y’all! Lol, sorry I had to! It feels appropriate for a post called “cowgirl chic” though, right?? I have no idea if this kind of look is “trendy’ or “cool” right now, but I’ve seen a few things lately that inspired me to embrace my southern roots and put something like this together, and here’s the finished product!

I think it’s really fun and a cool way to style cowboy boots if you have them. And you could easily transform the entire look simply by changing the shoes, but man do I love the combination of the more masculine boots, the feminine puff sleeve top, and the kind of eclectic vibe of the skirt. When it comes to wearing cowboy boots in general I try to always mix them with a more feminine outfit as a rule but of course you can do whatever best fits your personal style!

Speaking of the skirt, it’s from Anthropologie, and man have I been finding some great pieces there lately. You might remember this top, which is another recent Anthro find. I don’t shop there a ton for clothes, but I’ve had some great luck recently. Anyway, back to the skirt! The cut and silhouette are very flattering and I think it could be super cute styled outside of the cowboy chic look too. Maybe with a more fitted cashmere sweater or a long sleeve bodysuit and booties?!

Same goes with the top! You could easily pair it with jeans and the cowboy boots if that’s more your style or jeans and a pair of booties if you want to town down the cowboy vibes. I’m obsessed with the puffy sleeves though – so good! It’s also another Anthro find!

So what do y’all think? Would you rock the cowboy chic look?! If anything it’s a great option for a country concert or rodeo if you have either of those on your agenda this fall!
