Holiday Cocktails & Mocktails You Need to Make

There’s something so fun and festive about making cocktails this time of year. I love finding creative recipes online and doing my best to recreate them for holiday parties, date nights in, or even just a random Tuesday. ;) I actually concocted my own holiday cocktail this year that turned out AMAZING — you may have seen me sharing it on my Instagram Reels.

I had a blast coming up with this spicy pomegranate margarita (maybe we call it spicy pomegranate HOLIDAY margarita to make it festive haha?!). I think it’s the perfect combination of fruity and spicy but not too sweet… just the way I like it.

I’m sharing my spicy pomegranate margarita recipe below along with several other holiday cocktails that I’m dying to try myself. If you try any of these, be sure to snap a photo for Insta and tag me so I can see how they turned out. Cheers!

Brighton’s Spicy Pomegranate Margarita

COOKIE + kate

I always see people drinking hot toddies while they’re enjoying cocktails après-ski but I’ve never actually tried one myself. According to this recipe, they’re SUPER simple to make, and I think Duncan would love these too since they’re made with whiskey. This may be the year I try to make them once it finally gets cool outside! It seems so cozy to warm up by the fire sipping a hot toddy and watching a Christmas movie, am I right?!

Spiked Butterscotch Eggnog

Honest Grub, Honest Foodie

If you’re looking for a sweeter dessert cocktail, I think this Spiked Butterscotch Eggnog looks so good. I don’t really drink eggnog by itself but I do think it’d be really great as a cocktail, especially with a little Baileys and a touch of butterscotch. This would be a great drink to serve for a small holiday party or after dinner on Christmas Eve.

Apple Cider Mimosas

Okay, how good do these mimosas look!? If you’re hosting a brunch, this would be the PERFECT cocktail to make. I also think this would make a great drink to enjoy on Christmas morning with your family — and you can add as much or as little alcohol as you want. Plus you can save the leftover apple cider for the kiddos and those not drinking so everyone has something fun to sip on!

Holiday Sangria

The Modern Proper

I’m such a sucker for a good sangria. I love the fruitiness and it’s SO easy to make a big batch for a party or just to have throughout the week. Plus sangria actually gets better with time so you can totally make it a day ahead of your party so you have one less thing to worry about that day! Pro tip: Use a good wine for your sangria. I’ve totally cheaped out and it definitely showed, so go with something you’d actually drink on its own!
