gingham round up for spring 2017

I’m pretty sure gingham is taking over florals as the print to wear in Spring. Isn’t it just the cutest?! I love that the new styles of it still have the classic preppy feel, but modernized. The cuts – from off the shoulder to chic pencil pants, and the details, like fun flirty sleeves – are just what the print needed to stay relevant. No picnic tablecloth looking styles ya know? I’m especially drawn to blue and black gingham, but a little pink or yellow is also adorbs. Since I’m so in love with this print for spring and summer this year, I wanted to round-up some pieces that caught my eye.

Shopping Details: Velvet By Graham Button Up // Soprano Tie Front Dress ($45) // Sanctuary Racerback Slipdress // Topshop Crop Jacket (wait, OBSESSED!) // Clare V. Clutch (would be so fun to mix with other prints!) // Asos Tiered Ruffle Top  (OBSESSED – esp tucked in! $31)// Lovers + Friends Off The Shoulder Top (so chic!) //Bettinis Swim Top & Bottom (love love love the front of this bikini top!)

Speaking of Gingham…okay, so I wore this top while in Vichy last week but I actually just styled it a completely different way for a blog post coming at you next week! It’s a great top to wear with high-waisted pants, shorts, or a shirt and is SUPER cute with statement earrings since it’s got such a clean neckline :)

Outfit Details: Topshop Gingham Knot Tie Top  // AG ‘Farrah’ Skinny Jeans // Baublebar Ring Drop Earrings // Sonix Parker Sunglasses // Marc Fisher Wedges // Chloe Medium Marcie

I ended up buying a ton of stuff and keeping mostly tops. I kept 2 halter type tops with a ruffle on them, 2 sleeveless shell type tops with a cuuute scallop down the side, and a super floral dress. I am 5’10” so I have a long torso… the gingham top would have been super cute if I was petite. same think with the top that had flowers on it with the ruffly sleeves… it was definitely a crop top and I just can’t rock that, haha! I also really wanted to love all the dresses but they were mostly shift dresses and I am more of a pear shape. But hey, the tops worked out! I love all the scallops and ruffles.

Gingham is THE BEST! It is so cute and I’m so glad it’s becoming popular! I remember wearing gingham as a little girl and now I get to relive that! Great post, Brighton!
