4 Luxury Items Worth Splurging On

Y’all seemed to really love my post on what I look for in a luxury handbag, so I thought I’d continue that theme this month. And it’s perfect timing because other than the holidays, this time of year is when I find myself doing the most shopping. It’s something about the warm temperatures that get me excited to refresh my closet. Anyone else?!

Anyway, luxury items… what’s worth it and how do you know?! I’m someone who believes in investing in high-quality pieces when you know you’re going to get maximum use out of them. But what are these items? Well, they’re different for everyone, but for me, I like to splurge on the following things.

Handbags

I dove DEEP into my process of buying luxury handbags in this post so I won’t rehash all of that but basically, I’m a big fan of designer bags. Part of what I mentioned in my post dedicated to handbags is going for classic styles versus trendy. This is what makes them worth splurging on in my opinion. I’ve made the mistake of going for super trendy bags and after a season (maybe two if I’m lucky) I’m usually over it. So, given the opportunity to invest in a luxury handbag, definitely go for something neutral and a size that will best serve your lifestyle – maybe a small crossbody if you go out to bars and restaurants a lot or a larger tote-style if you need to carry your laptop everywhere with you.

Watches

OK, I looooove a good watch! And I really love it when I can snag a luxury brand watch for a good deal! Which is why a few years ago I bought my first Cartier watch on eBay. I bought it as a gift to myself for my birthday (a girl has to treat herself every once in a while). I had to do tons of research back then because eBay didn’t have their authenticate program, which launched at the end of 2017 and makes it SO easy to buy watches, handbags, jewelry, etc.

In my opinion, though, I think watches are definitely worth the splurge because I still wear my Cartier watch ALL the time. In fact, it’s one of my favorite accessories. I feel like a designer watch makes a fantastic gift, too, so if you’re shopping for a birthday or graduation gift, I highly recommend checking out some of the ones I linked below that I found on eBay! The brands I personally love as well as my Cartier are: Michelle, Tag Huer, Longines and Rolex!

Shoes (but sparingly)

Shoes are tricky, but I’m going to say that, in general, they’re worth splurging on in moderation. Having a few quality pairs in your closet that you can rely on to be both comfortable and classicly stylish is a must. Think a good pair of boots, black heels and a good casual pair(like the sneakers I bought off eBay and shared in this post). Once you have your basics, I think maybe a pair or two a year (depending on your budget) is OK, but try to get rid of a pair (maybe sell them on eBay?!) every time you buy new ones.

Denim

I’m not saying you need to only buy “designer” denim, but more like just finding a good brand that works for your body. When it comes to jeans, I really think you get what you pay for most of the time. Every once in a while I get lucky with a cheap pair, but I prefer to stick with higher end pairs because I know the fit and that the material will last.

The best part of all of this is you can shop all of these categories on eBay to get discounted prices! And with their authentification program, you never have to worry about buying a fake! If you’re new to shopping on eBay, drop any questions in a comment and I’ll do my best to answer them!

Thanks so much to eBay for sponsoring this post! As always, all opinions are my own!
