I originally had on ALL black for this outfit (aka a black turtleneck). But then I changed. I just COULDN’T do it. A part of me just felt…dead. (ha!) and so I switched for the off white turtleneck and I felt MUCH better. But even so, this outfit was TOTALLY thrown together last minute…sometimes those turn out to be some of my favorites. ;)

On another note, I’ve been thinking A LOT lately about what I want this space (BrightonTHEday blog) to BE and what purpose I want it to serve. To be completely honest with you, I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and given this question legitimate attention. And that’s kind of sad. And what’s even more surprising is that I still do my blog posts every day. I kid you not, I WING it and the richness of my post typically depends on how tired I am the night before…or how “over it” I’m feeling (eeek! so bad!). I don’t have a plan. I don’t have big ideas or goals written out in some pretty notebook or planner (although I WISH I did!).

The truth is, I take photos 1-2 times a week and build up an outfits bank and then randomly select an outfit to post each night for the next day. And frankly, I don’t even put much thought into those outfits either.

Let me illustrate what a ‘photoshoot’ typically looks like. Running late and all-over-the-place, my photographer or a friend meets me at my house. I grab a bunch of stuff (usually new things) and throw it into my trunk…I toss in staples like black pants and black jeans and a pair of heels, boots, and booties or maybe even my hunter boots if I’m feeling festive. I have all my makeup in a bad already so I grab that too. And then I throw together 2 or 3 looks and shoot them. Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?

Well, I want to change this. I want to be more intentional with my blog content and strive to serve a specific purpose on brighton the day. I want to create value for YOU and provide content that you’re excited to read and see each day.

But in order to help me do this, I need a little something from you. Please comment below or send me an email ([email protected]) and answer the following questions for me:

1. Who are you?! Tell me about what stage in life you’re in and what you do on a daily basis (student, mom, teacher, accountant, nurse, etc…)

2. How old are you?

3. Do you like seeing casual outfits or dressy outfits? or both? and do you think I should do more of either?

4. Do you want to see more lifestyle posts from me? If so, what kind?

5. Any idea what you enjoy most from brightontheday?

6. feedback would be SO great y’all! ;)
