Tailored Black Blazer

Tailored Black Blazer

Tailored Black Blazer

I don’t know what just happened. I think I just slept for like, 11 hours (which is pretty crazy for me these days…). Maybe it’s the altitude up her in Vail? Anyway, clearly I was NOT prepared on the blog front when I dozed off into a deep slumber last night….but I DO have this random outfit still in my Drafts folder :) sorry for the randomness, but hey sometimes STUFF happens :) ha!

And now to talk about this outfit (totally took these photos like 2 months ago…don’t judge! At least I’m not wearing floral print and a crop top? It’s still relevant ;))….

I’ve been looking for the perfect black blazer for awhile now. I almost bought the school boy one from J.Crew, but I wanted to keep my options open before jumping the gun. And when I was in New York last month, I stopped by the Madewell store and found this one. Not only did it fit well and felt tailored to me, but the best part is that it’s stretchy – so it’s comfortable!

Have you invested in a black blazer? and if so, is it comfortable (and cute?)?! Please do share ;)

This sweater I’m wearing is actually (technically) considered a “dress” but I thought it was kind of cute as a tunic with jeans and heeled booties. I’ve also worn it with leggings and flats – I bet riding boots would look cute too!

I’m literally the QUEEN of horrible time management. But really though. I’m the worst – doesn’t matter how hard I try. Nope, not even a little. In fact, I feel like the more I try, the worse I get. Why? Because the more organized I try and be, the more I “think” I can accomplish (since I’m so “ahead” of the game…ha!), and the more I try and do….and then yeah, the less I actually finish.  I spend more time dreaming up all the things I want to do and get done then I actually spend doing it. In fact, I think making to-do lists might just be my favorite (closet) past-time.

Anyway, I’ve been blogging for over 2 1/2 years now and I STILL haven’t figured out a good “blog schedule” strategy. In other words, I literally wing it every single day, each week, post by post. Reality is….it’s midnight and I’m putting this blog post together for tomorrow. My intentions were to do my post for tomorrow and fold laundry while watching my (current) show on Netflix. But then somehow I ended up watching 3 episodes of The Good Wife, did NOT open my computer and am still sitting next to a pile of UNFOLDED, clean laundry. (gotta love good intentions…) And frankly, these photos are from like, ummmm maybe a month ago…and I’m just now getting around to putting them in a post and linking it all up. (oops!) Does that make me look bad? Oh well, it’s the truth.

For the record, I’m not complaining. But rather, I’m just speaking (well, really typing) my mind.  You should know that I’m about as scatter-brained and disorganized as they come (#confessions), all-the-while coming off as (or so I’ve been told) the most put together and organized kid on the block (…bahaha! if only you knew!)

So yeah, THAT’S what I have to say about this outfit :) And now I must go to sleep so I can do supply chain/logistics stuff tomorrow for the “day” job (insert girl with sassy hand emoji here…)

I got home for the holidays (well, for Thanksgiving at least) last night, and I can’t wait (!) for all my siblings to get here! Fun/random fact: right now, my sister and I are the SAME age (we’re both 24)….until I turn 25 on the 29th (eeek! let’s NOT talk about that. Gosh I’m getting old!)

It’s so fun having a sister so close in age ;) and she’s actually the one (if you’ve heard me mention any wedding stuff over the past few months) that’s getting married on NYE. We are all SO excited!

I have a feeling we might be doing some family bonding over a little wedding “prep” (and stuff) while we’re all in town…I’m sure my mom could use some help! She not only hosting the wedding and reception at our home, but she’s also making my sister’s dress AND all the bridesmaids’ dresses AND shoes (yeah, I know. She’s super woman!)

It doesn’t take much interest in fashion to know that distressed ‘boyfriend’ jeans are kind of a thing these days. Yes, we are paying more (!) for ‘designer holes’ to be ripped into our jeans – and proudly so. Honestly, I’ve actually tried to distress a few pairs on my own and it didn’t turn out too well (major fail – and this is why I could never do a DIY blog…)

Anyway, I got these jeans while I was in NYC last month because I wanted to have another option for the distressed-laid-back-and-I-don’t-care ‘look’ other than my typical blue denim (like in this post).I’m excited to pick them up from the alterations later this week – clearly I needed to get these babies hemmed! But even still, they’re great. These are pretty-waisted (which you know I LOVE!) and they’re super stretchy too – the BEST combo if you ask me!

Do you ever feel like just wearing your PJs to the grocery store or corner market? I do. All the time. And thanks to my little (but growing) trench coat collection, all I really need to do is throw one of those babies on over my PJs and I’m all set (as long as it’s not like 100 degrees outside or anything…) The classic trench is one of the easiest and chicest looks around and perfect for this time of year (well at least in the South…) – it’s definitely a closet MUST have if you ask me!

….and have you noticed that I have a little obsession with this leopard clutch? Yeah, it’s literally one of my favorite accessories!

Have you noticed? I have a slight (okay, more like MAJOR) obsession with plaid and leopard. Together. I can’t get enough of this combo – and I’m loving THIS plaid shirt and leopard clutch together. In fact, I can’t get enough of this leopard clutch with just about EVERYTHING. I’m convinced – it makes an outfit.
