Travel

During years 3 through 5 of writing my blog, I did quite a bit of traveling. I mean, I think I was on-the-go just about every other week if not more often. I was always on the go and traveling ALL over the place! During that time, I did my best to document the places I went, things I did, and outfits I wore along the way. In this category, I share my itineraries, packing tips, travel looks, hotel & location reviews, and even how I decompress when on the road. Some of my favorite places I’ve visited (some once but a few several!) over the past few years have been the Amalfi Coast in Italy, Highlands (NC), Charleston (SC), The Cascade Mountains (Outside Seattle), and Banff just to name a few. If you’re looking for travel tips, you might find my post on Tips For Packing Well helpful as well as my carry-on travel tips! I’ve also shared How To Make The Most Out Of Your Time Traveling and 7 Ways To Make Travel Less Stressful.

My Review of Sea Island, Georgia

Last month, my entire family made our way up to Sea Island, Georgia, for an incredible family vacation. We’ve been several times before, but this time was especially fun because all of the cousins got to hang out and spend some quality time together. Plus, Four is finally old enough to appreciate trips like this. Even though they say that traveling with toddlers is a trip, not a vacation, I…

Beach Must-Haves for Kids (That You Can Order from Amazon)

We just got back from our first family trip to the beach! We visited Seaside, Georgia, with my family and it was the perfect way to spend the week. I got to spend time with my sisters and their kiddos who we don’t get to see often enough. Plus, I got to experience the beach with Four and Blake. There is nothing better than getting to see the world through the…

The Viral Packing Hack You Need to Try

Last week, I traveled with the kids to Sea Island, Georgia for a fun family vacation. I don’t care where you go, getting to spend quality time with your family and seeing your kids make memories together is actual heaven on earth — although Sea Island was pretty great too. ;) I’m planning to put together a quick recap of our trip for the blog… but that’s not what this…

The Best Trips I’ve Taken

Travel has always been something that’s important to me. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to visit a lot of really amazing places in my life, and there are a ton still on my bucket list! Some of these trips were work-related, while others were trips that I got to take with friends or Duncan. With vacation season in full effect and summer right around the corner, I thought it might be fun…

Tips for Traveling With Kids

It wasn’t until I traveled with my own kids that I really understood the fear parents have of traveling with children. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been on many flights with screaming children, but there’s something truly terrifying when it’s your OWN KIDS doing the screaming. We’ve traveled a few times now with the kids, and I feel like I’ve picked up on a few tricks to help keep them…

Why We Chose the Amangani Hotel in Jackson Hole

At the beginning of the year, Duncan and I decided to take a trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was my first time visiting this beautiful place, and I’m already looking forward to the chance to go back. After posting some IG stories from my trip, I had several people ask for details of my trip, so I decided to write a dedicated blog post to answer everything in one…

Our Trip to the Solage Resort In Calistoga

If you’re looking for somewhere to take a couple’s trip or even a girl’s trip, I’ve got the perfect spot. For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you probably saw me posting about my recent trip to California. It was so incredible that I wanted to write a full recap on the blog. Duncan and I decided to go right after Christmas (we literally left the next day and…

JSX Airlines Review

A few months ago, I flew to Austin and then Houston on JSX. I posted a couple of pics on Instagram, and so many people thought I was flying private. (I WISH!) Since then, I feel like I get asked for the name of this airline DAILY! And I have a rule that once a question truly becomes that frequent, it’s time to turn it into a blog post! So…

High Hampton Inn Review

I’ve been visiting Highlands, NC for years but have never stayed anywhere in the neighboring town of Cashiers (just a few miles down the road). But when I heard how the company that recently acquired High Hampton Inn brought in the team behind Blackberry farm to help with renovations and reimagine the resort, I knew I had to add this spot to the top of our list. Although I’ve never personally been…

What I Wore in San Miguel

Hello from Dallas! I’m so sad our Mexico trip is over (we got back on Sunday), but it’s nice to be back in the swing of things. San Miguel is a place that’s been on Duncan’s bucket list since before I even met him, and it did not disappoint. We spent 5 days there (including travel days) and I felt like it was the perfect amount of time to soak…

My Favorite Restaurants in Aspen

I’ve been going to Aspen since I was a kid with my family and now with Duncan and Four, so I’ve definitely come to learn which restaurants are great in the cozy ski town. Even though Aspen is considered a “small town,” it actually has some really great places to eat and shop. Downtown Aspen is one of my favorite places ever! Through the years, I’ve seen some shops and…

Essentials for Your Next Beach Vacation

It feels kind of funny writing a blog post on beach essentials when I’m currently packing for our trip to Aspen tomorrow, but I’ve had so many of you message me asking for some cute pieces that you can buy for an upcoming beach trip. I actually love going to the beach this time of year because you can escape the cold weather (okay it’s currently 72 in Dallas so…

I feel like this post has been a long time coming! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the review I did of my two go-to carry-on totes: the MZ Wallace Large Metro Tote Deluxe and the Dagne Dover Landon Carryall Bag. I wanted to also write a blog post about the two bags since so many of you reached out asking me to compare the two! I’ll start the post by saying…

Our Trip to Palmetto Bluff

It’s been so long since I’ve done a blog post recapping a trip, but this one was too good not to dedicate a blog post to! We actually had a trip planned to Mexico for this same week but had some issues getting Four a passport so we had to cancel 3 weeks out. Duncan had always wanted to visit Palmetto Bluff since hearing about it from a few friends,…

Fall Getaway at The Broadmoor

I saved my stories from the weekend to a highlight but I think those expire after a…

How to Make an Abroad Flight More Enjoyable

I’ve done a good deal of traveling in the last five years and have written a lot about it, but somehow I’ve never talked about how to make an abroad flight more enjoyable. Believe it or not, there are some things you can do to make your flight more comfortable and even make the…
