I couldn’t be more thrilled to tell my Dallas peeps about a new, amaze store to check out in the area – the newly redesigned Aveda Experience Center at NorthPark Center. I’ve been using Aveda products (and exclusively frequenting Aveda salons for my hair) for as long as I can remember. But really though – I’ve been a major fan since forever – like, WAY before my blogging days (we’re talking before I could even drive!) So when Aveda asked me to partner with them and share my experience, I was TOTES on board!

My Long Time Love Affair With Aveda

I can remember the first time I got my eyebrows waxed (like, ever) and how I was pleasantly surprised by how luxurious (and spa-like) the whole experience was considering how much I was dreading it. And funny enough, since I’d only gone to an Aveda salon to get my brows done, I thought it was “normal” for brow waxing to be a spa-like experience. Well, I was hit with reality upon visiting another salon and quickly realized that eyebrow-waxing is in no-way-shape-or-form typically a spa-like experience. That’s just an Aveda thing!

So I guess you could say I was introduced to their wide range of non-hair products early on and have been pretty loyal ever since. But speaking of hair, I ONLY go to Aveda salons and have been since I was 14. Ever since the first time I got layers in my hair, I quickly came to appreciate their cutting technique and love how Aveda Artits are able to cut layers that add volume yet are still light weight. Plus, I love the products they use AND the mission and values behind the Aveda brand.

The Aveda Experience Center at Northpark Dallas

Okay so all this about my love for Aveda brings me back to my point – they’ve just opened up a BRAND new store and it’s been reimagined to offer tips on hair care and styling and so much more! It’s also a huge resource for YOU (slash us) to learn more about what Aveda can do for you and how their products can improve your beauty lifestyle.

They’ve only opened three of these redesigned stores nation-wide and I’m SO thrilled that Dallas is one of the first spots to get one! Yay for Dallas peeps. My first question was – wait is this a pop up or something? But nope, it’s a permanent store and will be around for our enjoyment for years to come. Let’s talk about what happens when you visit.

So What Do You Do There?

Like I mentioned, it’s there to help you learn how Aveda and it’s products can make your beauty (and hair) life better :) So it’s all about learning and experiencing the brand and all it’s benefits. They start off by examining your hair and skin. Based on your skin and hair needs they make recommendations as to what you should be adding to your morning or night routine.

The great thing about Aveda, and what most people don’t know, is beyond shampoo and conditioner, they also have tons of great styling products (I’ll list my favorites later on) – and skincare and makeup lines as well! From head to toe you can buy all of your essential beauty products!

My Experience at The New Experience Center

I went last week and had a great time plus learned a little more about their new products. I’ll share a few photos from visiting and my experience with y’all below.

The Aveda Experience: Scalp Analysis

I was pretty skeptical of the scalp analysis in the beginning. First off I didn’t know how they would be able to see my scalp so closely and then what information they would be able to get from seeing my hair roots. When you walk into the store they have a specified hair station where you get to sit and talk to a consultant. They use a high zoom camera that allows them to take photos of your hair scalp. The consultant examines the photo to check that your scalp isn’t accumulating too much product build up as that could inhibit affect how your hair looks and grows.

After the analysis you get to discuss any other concerns with your hair you may be experiencing. For example, if you have thin hair and feel like you aren’t able to get enough volume when styling, they might recommend the Thickening Tonic to use when you get out of the shower. This tonic is amazing and instantly gives you a little umph.

Aveda Experience: Skin Assessment

During the skin assessment, the Aveda team likes to focus on keeping your skin looking fresh and healthy from a holistic perspective. They begin by asking a series of questions about your daily skin care and any problems you may currently have with your skin. You will then be recommended products that will help with any of those trouble areas you may be concerned with.

I was recommended a series of new serums called Tulasara that brighten, firm and calm the look of your skin.  The firming serum is great for lifting and firming skin’s appearance over time. Using the brightening serum in the morning instantly restores radiance. And lastly, the calming serum soothes my skin right before bed. On top of being great for your skin the Aveda products smell so good! Specifically, the calming serum has this amazing aroma that puts you in a calm state of mind and ready for sleep.
