Six Spring Lip Colors To Try

brightontheday blog sharing six spring lip colors to try now

Today I’m doing something a little different yet hopefully not too unexpected. Can you tell I’ve been trying really hard to incorporate other types of content? You all have been providing feedback and I’ve been listening! Anyway today I’m sharing my favorite lip colors for spring.

Putting this post together was both fun and a little difficult and definitely out of my comfort zone. Outfit posts are easy for me. Like I’ve mentioned before, it’s like I’ve got that process down to a science and I can do it without thinking much. But I promised myself that 2016 would be different!

As I’ve been brainstorming different ways I could add value to your life, I realized that I should share more things other than just outfits. And plus, sometimes it’s fun to switch things up a bit. I still don’t know why creating this type of content takes me SO MUCH longer, but I’m committed to delivering regardless :) because I want to be more than just a mannequin to y’all!

So here we go, I did my best to take selfies of myself (yes, I used a self timer…) to show you my current favorite spring lip colors.

As always, it would be a HUGE encouragement to hear from you – any kind of feedback whether good or bad is helpful! I always love seeing you all commenting and it makes my job way more fun too! Thanks for taking the time to stop by BTD and if you’ve got a minute, say hello and let me know which color you like best and/or if you’re hoping to try one of these!

First I want to share my newest acquisition with you all, which is this Mac Cosmetics ‘Mineralize’ glass lipgloss in ‘Tender’ and Lip Liner in “Snob”. I’ll admit, the jury is still out on this one, but so far I’ve really enjoyed the glossy look of it (compared to the rest of the colors you’ll see below that are more shiny rather than glossy).

I put the lip liner all over my lip to create a matte base color because the gloss is pretty sheer and doesn’t have as much pigment as I would like. Then, I put a coat or two of the gloss on top. The combo creates a natural look that I think looks really good without makeup or when you don’t want to wear as much and have more of a natural look.

It also looks pretty without the coat of liner underneath – it just has a much more translucent look to it. The gloss itself is pretty “milky” and very light pink but I like how it doesn’t have ANY shimmer to it, which is unique to most light pink glosses.

Yves Saint Laurent ‘Rouge Volupté Shine’ Lipstick No. 19 ‘Fuchsia in Rage’ – If you’ve been following for a while, then you probably recognize this color. I feel like it’s one of my go-to colors that I’ll always have in my lip color arsenal.

It’s one of those shades that makes just enough of a statement, yet it’s still classy enough to wear during the day. I don’t know if that makes sense? But somehow wearing purple just WORKS and I’ve been a fan for a about 2 years now? Anyway, I think this is DEFINITELY a color that you should try if you haven’t already. It looks different on everyone, but if you usually wear blue-ish tones for lip colors, then I think you would really like this one.
